The PubWorks
Asset Data Collector is a laptop-based
program designed to inventory fixed assets (signs,
culverts, etc...) and/or perform inspections on assets
that are already part of your inventory.
The Asset Data Collector integrates seamlessly with your
PubWorks database updating it with field-collected asset
and condition data.
Key features include:
Works with any asset class
or asset type and any number of
assets.
New asset types can be created and defined in the field.
Positional information is collected automatically by
either a vehicle-installed DMI or a laptop-connected
GPS. Manual entry is also an option.
Each inventoried asset is GIS map-able.
Uses an intuitive drive-the-road interface, i.e.: while
in use, you can see which assets are ahead and which
assets are behind you.
Creates a visual alert if you pass an existing asset.
Users are not required to exit their vehicle and perform
all operations on the laptop in their truck.
There is no limit to the number
of concurrent Asset Data
Collectors in use. For example,
you can have one employee
inventorying culverts, another
collecting guardrail data while
a third employee does sign
inspections
Merges all
collected information into the
PubWorks database -
compares collected information
against the asset records in the
PubWorks database and
either adds new assets or
updates pre-existing assets.
