July 2009 Newsletter

Hello and Thank you for reading the July 2009 issue of the PubWorks Tracker.

Many great things are happening at PubWorks including the Launch of MapViewer Version 2. This version allows you to represent all fixed assets on a GIS map and easily map Service Requests, Work Orders and Work Activities.

Our GIS programmer Mary Schuette is one of the best in the business and has created an extremely easy to use ESRI-ArcGIS compatible tool that truly puts an unlimited variety of mapping options literally a mouse click away.

Even if you currently do not own GIS data, we will provide ESRI StreetMap data for your area. We specialize in problem solving and we can help you.

A number of customers have purchased the MapViewer, prominent among them is Johnson County Road and Bridge in Wyoming. Cheryl Benner, our primary point of contact in Johnson County, is very pleased with the functionality and performance of the MapViewer. She is now able to see where her teams are working and track expenses to very specific locations – graphically!

Our user-friendly, comprehensive GIS MapViewer gives you all the power of ESRI’s ArcMap with the simplicity that our customers have come to expect with PubWorks. FREE Updates – Get the Latest and Greatest version of PubWorks

Our latest release (version 5.6.10) possesses a number of significant items. Aside from numerous enhancements and report additions, the following highlights are very exciting...

Online Service Requests - Extend PubWorks service request functionality to your city or county website. Citizens can quickly and easily key in, via a web form, the particulars of a problem. Once the problem is submitted, it is automatically inserted into your PubWorks database and a responsible party within your department will receive an email notification of the new service request. A citizen can access the status of a request or be notified when the request is completed.

Addressing – A new feature has been added to account for all valid addresses within your jurisdiction. Now, when Service Requests or Work Accomplishments are being qualified with a specific address, the address can be validated. Additionally the address can be used to research work and Service Request histories.

Equipment Downtime - Fleet Work Orders will automatically calculate the downtime (in hours) of vehicles that have been in for repairs and service. Reports have been added to help analyze the downtime characteristics of your fleet.

Custom Location Attributes and Metrics - We added the ability to create custom attributes and metrics based on the type of location you wish to manage. This way, you will have the ability to tailor the location screen with the values and fields that make most sense.

Email Enabling - Service Requests, Work Orders and Fleet Work Orders can now be directly emailed - via Outlook - with a single mouse click. For Service Requests and Work Orders, the composed email can also possess a GIS Map as an attachment.

Let’s get you updated to version 5.6.10
