System Requirements

Workstation

To effectively run PubWorks on your office computers the general rule-of-thumb is if you can run XP you can run PubWorks. More specifically, minimum workstation requirements are as follows:

  • Windows XP or Windows 7
  • PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed
  • 17" Monitor with 1028x768 resolution
  • 1G RAM
  • 100G Hard Drive
  • Ethernet Connection

SQL Server

PubWorks provides exceptional performance in the SQL Server environment and is compatible with all versions of Microsoft SQL Server including:

  • SQL Server 2000
  • SQL Server 2005
  • SQL Server 2008
  • SQL Server Express

Web Server

In order to run the optional PubWorks Online Service Request Module, you must be hosting your agency's website with Microsoft's IIS.

GIS MapViewer

PubWorks is compatible with all ESRI data storage formats including

  • Shape Files
  • File GEO Database
  • SDE Server

GPS Asset Data Collector

  • Laptop: XP or Windows 7 laptop computer with a dedicated serial port for DMI connection and a USB port for GPS antenna connection
  • DMI - the Nu-Metrics® DMI is recommended
  • GPS - the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx is recommended
